One of the panels had holes that were too narrow for left side of metal pin. We are wondering if we should file them out but afraid it will crack and you really can’t get in there due to the angle. Any one have this issue?

Everyone complaining about this in the comments didn’t follow the instructions properly. I didn’t at the beginning, either. But once I understood how to put this together, it worked a charm and I’m really happy with it.

What happened to Rubbermaid bruisers or roughneck with locking handles?

Slide roof often will not slide open. It hits in the back. If it is in the sun and the roof is hot it will open. If it is in the shade it will not open.

I found one of these second hand. Its about an hour away. Can. It be strapped down to my trailer without damaging it?

Amazing trash can.

Mine works great. People complaining didn’t assemble it correctly. I know because mine wasn’t assembled correctly at first. The opening rod must snap into the lid to make it open and close correctly.

Why doesn't Rubbermaid include some REAL drywall anchors instead of those crumby, cheap anchors that barely hold any weight? Anyone installing these kits would be wise to take all of the wall anchors and immediately deposit them into the nearest trash can and buy some better ones.

How do you know which size brackets to use? We got 10” deep shelves. Should we go with 9” or 11.5” brackets?

This trash can design is.. Trash. The lid pops up anytime I use the pedal. The plastic "tabs" that are supposed to hold the lid in place are not long enough to keep the lid attached operation of the foot pedal.

Nice but if you wanted a lid that stays locked for dogs, not much sense in buying this when the dog can lift up the stainless steel rim even when the lid is locked. Poor design

Don't build this in cold weather. The vinyl is to stiff, and all it does is fight you. The hardware they give you is substandard. Instead of Phillips headed hardware, it should be hex headed hardware, it would make installation, a lot easier. The small screw are to small. The snap in hardware for the roof section was hard to figure out. #1- The vinyl, holed channel, that it fits into, is very thin. In cold weather, the hole gives easily, making fitting of the hardware nearly impossible. On the brackets for the truss mounting hardware, pay attention to which is which. Very easy to mix them up. The window snap in hardware to the roof section is very poor quality. The vinyl mounting hole on the inside, says the clip will snap in. It doesn't as the snap mounting tit isn't big enough, and doesn't securly hold the clip. Additionl mounting hardware needs to be manufactured, for ease of installation. Nice looking shed, but very poor hardware. Additional mounting hardware needs to be manufactured, or retrofitted. Watch the video many, many times. The supplied directions are very confusing, by not providing, a clear, and acurate picture. Maybe written step by step instructions as well, as a picture, maybe the answer. It would have been nice if the mounting hardware was stamped with the part number on it. I don't recommend buying this. On a scale of 1 to 10, I rate it 0, yes that is ZERO.

This is a piece of crap. The lid stays up when I step on the pedal and it’s too big for our 13 gallon bags will return. Garbage.

I bought this at Lowe’s for about $59. Even after watching their video, the lid would not snap onto the base. I called the instructions, but the lid would not engage properly. Don’t buy this item. I’m going to return it myself.

When I tried to remove the lid to put the whole ting back in the box to return to Amazon, it suddenly began working. I don't trust this thing, but I'll sleep on it. Amazon returns are easy. I don't want to be stuck with a $50 piece of trash.

Do you have to use anchors? How far in should you drill your holes?

This shed eventually cracks at every seem that you have to bend. All four corners and the peak of the roof, which sucks because you don't notice until it rains one day and everything is wet. I will give the company's customer service a boost though. They sent me a new roof peak and any other parts I needed that failed. Even without a receipt they honor the 10 year warranty.

I'm happy with mine. Even more since I glued a small knob to the lid for times when I want to open by hand.

this doesn't show you that after you press down, you have to use the mallet to slide it left or right to lock the panel into the slot..... the instructions are AWFUL.

Does this thing not come with a plastic in liner for the bag to set into??

Hey Rubbermaid! It's super whack that you didn't include directions to hang the hang rail with the 2x4' expandable kit. The instructions start with installing the upright pieces. Boo-urns.

What accessories work with this model? I've searched everywhere, and often Rubbermaid accessories specifically exclude this model (Big Max 1S85)

Make sure the metal rod stepper pole thingy is clicked and locked in the slots or else the lid wont close with gravity

Looking forward to this shed, but I'm concerned that only 10 simple short screws are used to secure the entire top of the shed to the base (plastic to plastic) and the video does not mention the provided anchor locations on the bottom to affix it to the concrete/deck below. Will this hold up in a heavy wind? I kind of doubt it. I'm thinking of running a couple treated 2x3s along the inside bottom/sides/front/back to allow me to (1) anchor the base to the concrete/deck below (Tapcons or 4" deck screws) and (2) run some 3" deck screws with washers through the outside sides at the bottom to further secure the sides down to the base.

Not happy with mine at all. putting the roof on was hell and I had a mechanical engineer helping. Also the braces on the side wall keep popping out. Would not recommend

You know if you need to watch an instructional video on how to use a trashcan lid, then there is something seriously wrong with your product design. Immediately returned.

Don’t buy it!

If you notice that the red latch slides, it will solve all of the issues with the lid coming up! So after you get the lid on slide the red plastic piece all the way over to lock it in place!

You have to lock in the lift rod, and then put the foot pedal knobs into the their place at the highest point the pedal can be.
